4 Change in Storage Policy for BNB Greenfield Testnet

Blog post image.

As BNB Greenfield continues to strive for excellence in providing reliable decentralized storage services, a significant change will come to the storage policy for Greenfield Testnet.

With the successful launch of Greenfield Mainnet, offering users a robust and secure decentralized storage solution, Greenfield Testnet environment will have regular cleaning procedures starting 2023/12/01. This means that inactive buckets and objects stored on Greenfield Testnet will be periodically purged.

Key Changes

Regular Cleaning of Testnet Storage:

To ensure the optimal performance of Greenfield Testnet, we will be implementing routine cleaning processes. This involves the periodic removal of buckets and objects stored on the Testnet.

Limitations on Bucket Lifespan:

Moving forward, buckets created on Greenfield Testnet that exceed a lifespan of 3 months will no longer support file uploads. After 7 days from this limitation, these buckets and their contents will be permanently deleted.

Action Required:

We advise all developers to carefully manage their buckets and files on Greenfield Testnet. If you have buckets that are more than three months old, please take appropriate action to move or back up your data before the specified date to avoid any inconvenience.

Consider Greenfield Mainnet for Long-Term Storage:

For storing data with a longer lifespan, we recommend utilizing Greenfield Mainnet. The Mainnet offers a stable and reliable environment suitable for important and long-term data storage needs.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we work towards refining and optimizing the Greenfield ecosystem. Our commitment is to provide you with the best decentralized storage services, and the changes to the Testnet are a step towards achieving this goal.
