BNB Token

BNB is the native currency built on the Binance Smart Chain.

ALT Tokens

When a dApp (decentralized app) is built off of the Binance Smart Chain, it usually implements its own form of Token. Think Band’s BAND Token, or Chainlink LNK Token.

BEP20 Standard

BEP20 is a standard allowing any tokens on Binance Smart Chain to be used by other applications: from wallets to decentralized exchanges in a consistent way. wBNB follows BEP20 standard except that there is no owner(). Why do you need wBNB?

BNB doesn’t conform to BEP20 Standard: BNB and BEP20 tokens are designed to achieve different purposes.
Wrapped BNB can be traded directly with alt tokens: wBNB can also be converted back.
