Today, we finish the first round of our BSC Grants Spotlight series focused on the top five projects from the first round of the BSC Grants. BSC Grants is a Quadratic Funding Grant sponsored by the BSC ecosystem and held on HackerLink.io, a blockchain developer platform under DoraHacks. Developers from all over the world can submit projects to Hackerlink.io.
Let’s get into last interview with xDeFi, the fifth most-voted project in the first round of the BSC Grant.
Spotlight on xDeFi
Please describe xDeFi to our audience and tell us what’s unique about your project.
xDeFi Protocols, a series of protocols built on xDEX (Multi-asset AMM pools). Other protocols like xHalfLife ( exponentially decaying, repetitively fundable money stream) and xOption (European Capped Options) are built for ease of use.
Launched on ethereum mainnet, our swap.xdefi.com achieved our goal that the gas cost for an ordinary trade is no more than 20% than Uniswap or Sushiswap. We have finished gas optimization, slippage optimization for users.
Talking about xHalfLife, we will launch this free vesting tool soon to all users on BSC first ( earlier than xDEX launch on BSC). We finished financing, team vesting, and farming with this tool.
xOption is finished 70% on Dorahacks Hackathon, will be audited around April-May.
Can you briefly introduce us to your team?
Turbulence Wang graduated with an MS.C in Dept. Statistics, U Chicago, having 4 years of ETH mining experience and crypto understanding.
Eric Zhang, graduated from the Chinese Academy of Sciences, previously in Tencent search and recommendation development; 4yrs+ Ethereum, EOS, Polkadot Developer。
The two core team members met 4 years before, and won 1st prize on Dorahacks Hackathon, 2017. At Nov 2020 Dorahacks Hackathon, both of them led a small project and both won 1st prize again.
What’s the most important element on your roadmap? What can we expect from you in the coming weeks and months?
Our most important task in the coming weeks is to launch on BSC without minting more coins (we will have our own version of token bridges).
What do you think made you succeed in the 1st round of BSC Grants?
By the time of 1st BSC grants, we encouraged Kovan testnet users and our seed round investors to vote for us. Out of 1810 votes, there are 510 addresses active on Ethereum for more than three months. We believe the voters voting for us are true users who are actively engaged in blockchain activities.
Why did you decide to build on Binance Smart Chain? What do you hope to see next from the BSC community?
BSC is highly compatible with ETH, having active developers and a friendly gas environment. Many of our designs are finished on the Kovan testnet, and we found BSC mainnet is also a cool playground.
We hope to see more well-developed infrastructure ( like Multi-Sig Wallets with contract calling) appearing on BSC soon.
Let’s say I want to start using xDeFi. Where do I start? Where can I find some how-to guides?
First, you can try out farm.xdefi.com to find whether there’s a pool ( containing the Altcoin you are fond of, or high APY may attract you. Make sure you understand our tokenomics before farming )
Second, our Layer 1 Ethereum DEX solution is among the products which charge users the lowest fee and our optimization on codes make sure that users may pay no more than 20% gas cost than Uniswap
Lastly, these optimizations make sure our swap product still keeps competence on any Mainnet.
BSC Grants 2: The second funding round
The subsequent BSC Grants 2 funding round is in preparation and now accepts sponsorship partners. BSC ecosystem partners, individuals, and interested parties are welcome to join us and sponsor the next round.
If you’re interested in sponsoring the fund, please send an email to hi@dorahacks.com with a short introduction explaining why you’re interested in becoming a sponsor. Please join the Telegram group.
Keep up with the BSC Discord, Telegram-BSC Developer Community, Twitter, and Dorahacks Medium to be the first to know about the next round.
About Binance Smart Chain
Binance Smart Chain is a sovereign smart contract blockchain with Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) compatible programmability. It is designed to run in parallel with Binance Chain (BC). Binance Smart Chain retains the BC’s fast execution times and low transaction fees while adding smart contracts functionality to support compatible dApps.
